Girl Scout Sunday: March 6, 2016.

posted Mar 1, 2016, 11:14 AM by Burlington Service Unit

Girl Scout Sunday is a town wide event for girls of all levels to get together.  There is a quick rotation of activities:
1.  The Girl Scouts gather for a ceremony to honor the flag and recite the Girl Scout Promise and Law.
2.  Sing their favorite camp songs by a harmless (AKA fake) fire
3.  A simple craft to complete with the help of older scouts. (head bandana and songbook)
4.  A snack and beverage that is determined at the troop level
5.  Sing songs as a group.
6.  Friendship Circle and dismissal

See the attachment for more details.  Let your troop leader know if you are interested in participating!

Girl Scout Swim at Shawsheen on 2/19/2016 10am- 11am

posted Feb 9, 2016, 8:57 PM by Burlington Service Unit

Burlington Girl Scouts are invited to a town-wide event to go swimming at the Shawsheen Tech. Pool.

We will have access to the entire pool, both the deep and shallow ends, and any equipment on site. Non-swimmers are welcome to bring their own swimming apparatus and lifeguards will administer a test for anyone interested in swimming in the deep end. There are bleachers that overlook the pool from above. Please keep in mind that the actual pool deck area is not large, has no seating and will be wet. For these reasons, if you are not comfortable watching from above we would prefer either leaving younger siblings at home or having only a few parents from your troop volunteer to stay. Girls CAN NOT be dropped off without at least one adult from each troop remaining on site. There is a locker room with bathroom stalls, showers and changing rooms, but only a couple of benches in the common area (which does get very crowded at the end.) Please note: if you bring a hairdryer there are not many outlets.

The cost is $5.00 per scout (payable in advance) and will include a fun patch.*

The Burlington Service Unit will be hosting registration night on September 16th for those interested in joining in the fun in this girl led organization.  The Girl Scout mission is to build girls of Courage, Confidence, and Character.  We are seeking both Girl Scouts and volunteers to attend and learn what all of the excitement is about.  We will have activities for the girls to participate in as well as information to share with adults.

Join us!
September 16, 2015 6-7:30pm
Marion Tavern at Grandview Farm
55 Center St.
Burlington, MA

We strongly encourage you to register for Girl Scouts online to process registration quicker and allow for you to spend time learning and experiencing rather than filling out paperwork.  A CORI (criminal background check) will still need to be done in person at this time.  Please bring a driver's license or valid ID to registration night.
